Overview
Learnix is a mobile-first learning marketplace that connects learners with real industry mentors instead of relying purely on pre-recorded video content. The client approached Agile Stormers with a vision: build a single, unified mobile experience where students could discover courses, follow structured lessons, track progress, and pay for content all inside one seamless app, available equally on iOS and Android.
Agile Stormers was brought on to design and build this application from the ground up, covering everything from onboarding and course discovery to secure checkout and account management, using a single cross-platform codebase to serve both operating systems without compromising on native look and feel.
Challenges:
Before partnering with Agile Stormers, Learnix faced several key challenges:
- Fragmented learning experience: Existing tools in the market were either static video libraries or clunky web portals not built for mobile-first learners.
- No unified discovery flow: Learners had no simple way to search, filter, and compare courses by category, price, rating, or mentor.
- Weak conversion path: There was no structured cart-to-checkout journey, making it hard to convert interested learners into paying customers.
- Multiple payment expectations: Users expected flexibility — Apple Pay, Google Pay, and saved credit cards — but the client had no infrastructure to support multiple payment methods in one flow.
- Onboarding & security concerns: The client needed a secure, frictionless sign-up process (email/password and Google sign-in) along with OTP verification and password recovery, without adding friction that would cause drop-off.
- Cross-platform cost and consistency: Building and maintaining two separate native codebases (iOS and Android) was not financially sustainable, but the client still wanted a native-quality experience on both platforms.
- Retention and progress tracking: Learners needed a way to see ongoing course progress at a glance and pick up where they left off.
Solution:
Agile Stormers designed and developed a full-featured, cross-platform mobile application built once, deployed natively to both iOS and Android addressing each of the client’s pain points:
a) Streamlined Onboarding & Authentication
- A clean welcome/splash screen introducing the Learnix value proposition.]
- Registration and login flows with email/password, “Continue with Google,” and Terms & Conditions acceptance.
- Secure OTP verification sent to the user’s phone/email during sign-up.
- A complete “Forgot Password” flow: email confirmation → OTP → new password creation, reducing support tickets and login abandonment.
b) Personalized Home Dashboard
- A “Welcome back” home screen showing the user’s name, notifications, and profile photo.
- An ongoing-course card with a circular progress indicator (e.g., 90% complete) so learners can resume instantly.
- Quick-access category tiles (Design, Data, Marketing, Coloring, etc.) and a “Recommended Courses” carousel.
c) Powerful Search & Discovery
- A prominent search bar with recent search history and related results.
- Course cards showing mentor name, price (with discount strike-through), star rating, review count, and a one-tap wishlist toggle.
d) Rich Course Detail Pages
- Preview video thumbnails, mentor name with verified badge, pricing, and description.
- Tabbed navigation between Lesson content (structured into sections with duration and completion checkmarks) and Reviews from other learners.
e) Cart, Checkout & Multi-Method Payments
- A cart screen summarizing item count, item cost, shipping/service fee, and total price with swipe-to-delete.
- A dedicated payment screen supporting Apple Pay, Google Pay, and saved Credit/Debit cards, with the ability to add new cards inline.
f) Account & Profile Management
- A profile screen for editing personal details, managing notification preferences, language settings, help/support, and app preferences plus a clear logout flow.
g) One Codebase, Two Native Experiences
- The entire application was engineered as a single cross-platform codebase, ensuring feature parity, faster release cycles, and significantly lower long-term maintenance cost while preserving a native, platform-appropriate feel on both iOS and Android.
Result:
- 1 unified codebase deployed to both the App Store and Google Play, cutting development and maintenance overhead compared to separate native builds.
- Faster onboarding: streamlined registration + OTP flow reduced sign-up drop-off.
- Improved conversion: a clear cart-to-checkout journey with multiple payment options increased completed purchases.
- Higher engagement: the progress-tracking home dashboard encouraged learners to return and complete in-progress courses.
- Scalable foundation: the category- and search-driven discovery model made it easy for Learnix to onboard new mentors and courses without redesigning the app.
Agile Stormers took our idea for a mentor-driven learning app and turned it into a polished, production-ready product on both iOS and Android from a single codebase. Their attention to detail on the checkout flow and onboarding experience made a real difference in how quickly our users converted from browsing to buying a course. They didn’t just build what we asked for they anticipated the friction points before we even hit them.
